From the beginning of the production season 2017/18 gg processed sugar beet 46 197,8 thousand tons (0.1% below the level of last year), worked out 6 459.6 thousand tons (6.2 percent above last year's level).

According to the FCS of Russia imports of raw sugar in the current year (as of 27.05.2018) amounted to 2.0 thousand tons (against 2.3 million tons in the same period of 2017).

The volume of Russian imports of white sugar (according to the FCS of Russia) in January - March 2018 rose by 8.3% and 70.5 thousand tons (in January-March 2017 to 65.1 kt).

The volume of Russian exports of white sugar (according to the FCS of Russia) in January-March 2018 increased by 1.5 times and amounted to 169,3 thousand tons (in January-March 2017 – 116,6 thousand tons). The main consumers are countries of Uzbekistan, Belarus, Azerbaijan.

According to operational data of rail statistics, the exports of sugar in January - April 2018 increased by 10,0% and amounted to 187 thousand tons In the same period of 2017 were exported 170 thousand tons.

As 28.05.2018 wholesale price of sugar in the SFD for the week rose 0.4% (+37,3% since the beginning of the current year) and amounted to RUB 34,30/kg.
