The creation of a joint Russian - Belarusian machine-building cluster on the basis of the Cherepovets foundry and mechanical plant (CHLMZ) in the framework of the project of the "Union tractor" will allow to increase the production of Belarusian tractors in Cherepovets doubled to 3.5 thousand units per year, said Tuesday the General Director of the Minsk tractor plant Fyodor, Domotenko following the meeting with Governor of Vologda region Oleg Kuvshinnikov.

The meeting in Minsk was a continuation of the dialogue launched in February at an investment forum in Sochi, where the parties agreed on a roadmap for the localization of production of Russian-Belarusian tractor equipment.

"Today, with the leadership of the Vologda region we talked for a revision in the roadmap and are ready to submit all decisions to the Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation. If they are approved, we expect to increase production in two times - up to 3.5 thousand units per year. This is a good indicator, which will improve the profitability of production and to create in the Vologda region jobs," said Domotenko, quoted in a press-service of the Governor.

Cherepovets casting-mechanical plant will be the basis of future cluster. Playground CHLMZ provided energy, roads and Railways, has its own foundry and laboratory. In addition, the region has a system of training for the engineering industry.

"We are in the homestretch of coordination of the project of the "Union tractor". The localization of production on the basis of CHLMZ will allow us to fully obtain measures of state and regional support for agricultural engineering, to participate in the Federal leasing programs and subsidies for producers of agricultural machinery. This is the most important competitive advantage, which should not only increase production, but also the development of dealer and service centers on the territory of constituent entities of the Russian Federation", - quoted a Close by his press service.

The production of tractors and specialized equipment was launched in Cherepovets together with the Minsk tractor plant in 2010. From that moment on CHLMZ collected 10 thousand Belarusian tractors production grew 8 times - from 240 to 1865 tractors per year, the product range consists of 43 items of machinery. Thanks Vologda oblast is a Russian leader in production of tractors, the share of the region accounts for 37.5% of domestic production of tractors. Kuvshinnikov presented the project of the "Union tractor" in June 2016 at the forum of regions of Belarus .
