The Ministry of agriculture of Russia plans in the next five years to solve the problems with reclamation in the Republic of Crimea, where due to the overlap of Ukraine, the North Crimean canal significantly reduced the area of irrigated land. This was announced on Wednesday the first Deputy head of the Ministry of agriculture Dzhambulat Hatuov during the agrarian forum "Day of Siberian field".

In the Ukrainian period of the Crimea, the area of irrigated land reached 120-130 thousand ha. However, due to the overlap of the North Crimean channel has substantially decreased and, according to the Republican Ministry of agriculture in 2017, amounted to slightly more than 14 thousand hectares In 2015, was commissioned 813 hectares of reclaimed land in 2016 - 481 hectares in 2017 - 1.6 thousand hectares.

"With regard to the moisture balance and water availability, there is a program of reclamation of the Crimea, and it is successfully implemented. All this in the next five years will give the balance that was needed," said house.

According to him, the program of land reclamation in the region involves the "reconstruction of existing reclamation systems" and "construction of special drives, which allow for the accumulation of flood water".

Earlier it was reported that the volume of state support of development of irrigation in the Crimea in 2018 will increase by 1.5 times in comparison with the 2017 year - to 416,6 million roubles, this year the region to be about 3.5 thousand hectares of reclaimed land. According to the Ministry of agriculture of the Crimea, by 2020, the Crimea plans to triple the area of irrigated lands - up to 45 thousand ha. during the Soviet years, the area of irrigation in the Peninsula reached 440 thousand ha.

On behalf of the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation in the Republic established a working group on the development of irrigation systems and land reclamation. Priorities for the irrigation of lands in the region give primarily to vegetable growing, viticulture and horticulture.
