Ukraine closed one of the largest enterprises of chemical industry — plant "Dniproazot". It threatens Ukraine with collapse of water supply, as the company is the only one in the country that produce the chlorine used for disinfection of water. On the eve, July 6, according to "Kyivvodocanal."

"Dniproazot" I stood in the middle of June due to high gas prices, necessary enterprises for technological process. When the plant will operate again is unknown.

Due to the stop of "Dneproazot" in the industry water supply and sanitation sector of Ukraine has created a difficult situation with the subsequent disinfection of drinking water. This requires chlorine, which is produced "Dneproazot", and its reserves in a number of "utility" will only last for 7-20 days.

The Association "Ukrvodokanalekologiya" sent an appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Council of national defense and security due to the current critical situation. In the city of Dnepropetrovsk, on 23 June held a special meeting at which agreement was reached with "DneprAzot" to resume production of chlorine. However, the production still has not resumed.

"Kyivvodocanal" to emphasize that procurement of chlorine abroad certainly possible, but fraught with difficulties.

In the organization of warning — if the supply of chlorine will not resume in the coming days — from July 9 in some regions of Ukraine will have to limit the water supply to the population. In some areas the water will simply overlap.

It should be noted that "Dniproazot" is critically important for the Ukrainian economy enterprise. The plant produces not only the chlorine required for the disinfection of water, but also a number of strategic products, in particular ammonia, urea, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, necessary for production of other consumer goods.
