According to the information-analytical system "Argus", food imports for the period amounted to about 57.6 thousand tons.

Violations of food safety

According to the unified system of early warning in the field of safety of food and feed RASFF, from 2 to 8 July 2018 identified 13 violations of food security in 8 countries.

• 5 violations was in the feed and feed supplements produced in Spain, Germany and Italy. 4 of these 5 disorders associated with the presence of products of the bacteria of the genus Salmonella spp. 1 violation in the feed associated with detected DNA of ruminants, which bears the risk of the spread of spongiform encephalopathy of cattle.
• 4 breaches have been reported in poultry meat and products produced in Poland and in Thailand. All violations were associated with the detection of bacteria of the genus Salmonella spp. what may indicate the non-compliance with hygiene at the enterprises-manufacturers.
• 1 violation associated with pathogen detection Escherichia coli in chilled beef production in Uruguay.
• 1 violation was in connection with the discovery of the pathogen Listeria monocytogenes in ham Italian production.
• 1 the violation is recorded in the system due to falsification of accompanying documents for chilled carcasses of horses, made in Denmark.
• 1 violation associated with detection of Salmonella in minced horse meat of Belgian manufacture.

The geography of imports of food products

In the period from 2 to 8 July 2018 main trading partners of Russia are Belarus (43,83%), Paraguay (7,06%), Argentina (5,86%) and Brazil (5,10%).

A large part of the products were imported to Russia via St. Petersburg, via Kaliningrad, Smolensk and Bryansk region.
