The increase in exports and sales of intervention grain will relieve the elevators and granaries of the Omsk region for the adoption of the new grain harvest, said Tuesday TASS, the Minister of agriculture and food of the Omsk region Maxim of Chemesov. Despite protracted due to the abnormally cold and rainy spring sowing campaign, the Siberian region expects to collect this year at least 3 million tons of grain.

"The Omsk region for the first quarter of this year exported more grain than all of last year. <...> The Federation for the first time in many years decided to buy grain from the intervention Fund, we were allowed to implement 92 million tons of grain in 2009 - 2013 bookmarks, it has shipped 50 thousand tons. We have about 440 thousand tons of the intervention Fund. Now we can safely put into storage around 3.5 - 4 million tons of grain - enough for the harvest," - said Chemezov.

Head of processing and the commodity market of the Ministry of agriculture of the Omsk region Konstantin Tsyplenkov said TASS that the Omsk oblast for the year increased capacity for grain storage from 4.1 to 4.5 million tons of grain. "This is mainly due to the warehouses of agricultural producers, which can take up to 2.6 million tons of grain. New Elevator capacities we have not yet introduced, but there are a number of projects that are planned to be implemented," said Tsyplenkov.

Omsk oblast is one of the leading agrarian regions of Russia. The area of farmland is more than 3 million hectares, of which about 2 million hectares allocated for grain crops. From the collected in 2017 in the Omsk region grain crop at 3.4 million tons, almost 90% - food grade.
