Russian fishing vessels, which realize fishing without entering the territorial waters of other countries, will now be able to return to ports without customs inspection. The relevant law was signed by President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

The document adopted by the Parliament on 18 July and approved by the Federation Council on July 24, published on the official portal of legal information. It will enter into force 180 days after publication.

As noted in the conclusion of profile Committee of Council of Federation on defense and security, vessels "engaged in fishing in the exclusive economic zone or on the continental shelf" of Russia, once past the procedure of border and customs control, are not obligated to do it again, if they did not come in the internal or territorial waters of other States.

Fishermen would only be required to notify the relevant authorities that the route passes through state border of the Russian Federation. The new rule will apply only to vessels equipped with technical means of control providing constant automatic unadjusted transfer of information about their location.
