Russia for the first time in eight years, began to supply wheat to Brazil. This is stated in the message Rosselkhoznadzor of the Russian Federation.

"For the first time in 8 years the first batch of Russian wheat in the volume of 26.2 thousand tons were shipped to Brazil from the Kaliningrad region," - said the Agency.

Rosselkhoznadzor said that the experts agreed with the Secretariat on the protection of plants and animals of the Ministry of agriculture, livestock and supply of Brazil exports of Russian wheat to Brazil. According to submitted to the Rosselkhoznadzor the information of the exporting company, the party of Russian wheat has passed all necessary laboratory tests for compliance with quarantine phytosanitary requirements of Brazil and were allowed to be imported without any restrictions from the Brazilian side.

As noted in the Department, Brazil imports around 7 million tonnes of wheat.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of agriculture, grain exports in 2018-2019 agricultural year (started July 1) is expected to reach 44-45 million tons.
