JSC Acron (Veliky Novgorod) carried out a planned upgrade of the second unit of ammonia production and storages of liquid ammonia. The programme also provides for the merger of all units into a single information network.

As explained by chief engineer-Deputy main instrument operators for APCS (automated control systems of technological processes), JSC "Akron" Cyril Zabolotskaya, the need to update associated with the Statute of limitations of the existing controllers of the control system, responsible for receiving, processing and issuing signals to the control unit and spent 20 years. New control devices Honeywell has already been purchased and will be replaced during the current overhaul.

In the warehouses of liquid ammonia it is planned to install an additional controller, new stations, redundant server. The current system is operated since 2008. During this time, significantly increased the requirements for its reliability.

"From the stable operation of the warehouse depends on uninterrupted supply of ammonia of mainstream consumers, and the implementation of the production program, – said Kirill Zabolotsky. – The upgrade will enhance system reliability and extend its service life. Installation of new equipment planned in the second half of summer."

As ammonium units have many common parameters that affect each other, another important step in the improvement of their work will be the Union of all four units and warehouses into a single information network with the architecture of distributed servers. This option will allow you to combine systems into a unified whole. All will be transmitted via optical with no restrictions on the number of signals. The Union of all systems in the local area network will allow not to think about the organization of data exchange between them.
