Four seed farms to increase yields of agricultural crops established in Dagestan, told TASS in the press service of the Ministry of agriculture and food of the region.

"Currently, the Republic created four seed farms on the basis of "Niva", LLC "Sirius" of the Kizlyar district, on the basis of FGUP im. Kirov Khasavyurt district for the production of cereal seeds, which are the leading rice growing enterprises of the Republic, and on the basis of the branch of the Dagestan state University experimental station "VIR im. N. And. Vavilov" Derbent region to grow grain and vegetable crops. Agriculture with modern material-technical bases developed to deal with seed production of rice, winter crops and vegetables," - said the press service.

The Ministry believes that the provision of agricultural producers of quality seeds will help increase yields and gross harvest of agricultural crops.

The development of seed production of the Dagestan research Institute of agriculture (agricultural research Institute) has developed experimental field with an area of 100 hectares, where it plans to carry out research work on development of seed production of different crops and their implementation in agricultural enterprises of the Republic.

As reported, the authorities of Dagestan are planning to send in 2018 6.5 million rubles to create a seed center to ensure of the Republic of sowing material. According to the Ministry, the seed centre will provide up to 50% of the needs of agricultural producers of the Republic for crops.

According to the regional Ministry of agriculture, in 2017 in Dagestan gathered 400 thousand tons of grain (in weight after processing), is 17% higher than in 2016.
