Grain yields in the Vladimir region decreased by a third because of the drought, set at the beginning of the summer. A lower period of almost ten tons per hectare, have informed on Tuesday to journalists the Vice-Governor Alexander Trutnev.

"On 27 August, about 70% of all crops we have already removed, yield was in bunker weight 130 thousand tons, This figure is lower than last year. This year the yield is 24 quintals per hectare last year on this date was 32.1 per hundredweight, that is, almost ten quintals per hectare in the us yields dropped. This is due, of course, with the June-July drought," he said.

According to the Vice-Governor, the most drought affected southern parts of the region, where yields fell from 24 to 14 quintals per hectare. Thus the farmers of the region celebrated a good crop of potatoes, which is about 50 quintals per hectare higher than last year's indicators.

In total, the area sown 81.5 thousand hectares of grain crops, 3 hectares of potatoes, and 455 ha of vegetables.
