The event was attended by members of the fgbi "VGNKI" – the Deputy Director of the Institute, head of Department pharmacological drugs, safety of food and feed production, Professor Alexander Komarov and head of the Department of food safety Paul metal'nikov.

The conference was devoted to fundamental aspects of mass spectrometry, new instrumental developments, protonym research, methods of separation of complex mixtures, analysis of food products, identification of environmental pollutants, applications of chromatography-mass spectrometry to the pharmaceutical industry and drug development, elemental analysis, sample preparation for mass spectrometric analysis and other issues.

At the conference, the fgbi "VGNKI", presented two poster presentations, highlighting the results of scientific research works of Department:

1. A multi-residue confirmatory method for the determination of sedatives by HPLC-MS/MS. ("Confirming multicomponent method define sedatives with high-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection".)
2. Comparison of Different Strategies for the Determination of Veterinary Drug Residues in Food by UPLC-MS/MS using Orbitrap Elite. The reports aroused interest among the conference participants working in the field of food safety. The fgbi "VGNKI" received useful information from numerous oral and poster presentations and for the lively discussions on issues of mass spectrometry with the leading in this field by scientists.
