Khabarovsk Krai will become a center of development of seed production in the far East
In the Khabarovsk region will be built a factory for the cultivation of elite seeds of soybean, the official website of the regional government. The power of the region, Sberbank and LLC "Sporos" signed at VEF corresponding agreement.
"Sporos" already builds in Bikin plant for the production of soybean seeds. The design capacity will amount to 15 thousand tons of seeds per year, the total acreage of 12 hectares, half of them employ under seed crops.
The company intends to provide with elite seeds of soybean, barley and maize all regions of the Far East. Khabarovsk Krai will become a development centre for seed in the far Eastern Federal district, said the first Deputy Chairman of the regional government Yury Chaika.
The first phase of the new facility will be commissioned in October.
