France immediately responded to the situation in the neighboring country. The local Ministry of agriculture is urged to take all protective measures. Its members believe that the outbreak of ASF in Belgium represents another stage in the spread of the disease in Europe.

The Minister of agriculture of France, stéphane Travers immediately appealed to the regions bordering the infected territory. He said that some types of activity, such as hunting, should be limited. Traver called for increased surveillance of livestock and wild animals in four districts bordering with Belgium, to ensure that the virus will not fall on the farm and the slaughterhouse.

The representatives of Germany said that they are ready to fight ASF. "We take this situation very seriously. ASF is a threat to Germany, and we are ready for a crisis situation. We have the appropriate tools for struggle," said Julia klöckner, the German Minister of agriculture and food policy.
