According to the information-analytical system "Argus", the volume of imports of food products regulated by the Rosselkhoznadzor for the period amounted to about 245 thousand tons.

The percentage distribution among the groups of the imported goods following: 41,98% of the total import volume made up of herbal products; and 19.8% – meat; only 15.5% of fish and seafood; and 12.1% milk and dairy products. Also a large share in imports fell on feeds and feed additives (9.82 percent).

Among the meat products a significant share in imports fell for beef (7,59%) and poultry meat (4,60%). Pork made up 1.87% of the imported agricultural products and finished meat and fish products is 3.10%. The imports of eggs totaled 0.80 percent of total food imports for the period.

In the period from 17 September to 28 October 2018 and 23.7% of the products were imported from countries of the Eurasian economic Union; 6,8% – from the countries of the Asia-Pacific economic cooperation; 7.4 percent from EU countries. The main countries – trade partners during the specified period were Paraguay (28.8 per cent), Belarus (21.9 percent) and Brazil (14.5 per cent).

Trademark-geographical structure of imports, we can conclude that the EEU countries for the analyzed period were the main suppliers to Russia of meat, milk and dairy products, eggs and products of their processing, whereas, the APEC countries accounted for the largest share in export of fish and fish products.

Delivery of products to the territory of Russia in the period under review was mainly done through road and sea transport. Road traffic made up 65,16 thousand tons. In container shipping had remaining 49.67 thousand tons, marine bilge transport – about 126,52 thousand tons, rail transport – 4,44 thousand tons, air transport – 0,06 thousand tons.
