According to the Ministry of agriculture of Russia, on November 1, 2018 in the Altai region are insured under the state 136,5 thousand hectares of crops, which puts the region in first place among all subjects of the Russian Federation on this indicator. Of all reporting regions of the Altai Krai took over some of the highest obligations in the coverage of crops – the Ministry of agriculture of the Russian Federation, the planned target for the region is 104 thousand hectares. Thus, the region of 31% exceeded the plan for the current year.

"It should be noted that according to the NSA insured in the Altai region, the area planted more – 141.7 per thousand hectares but it is not more than 3 % of the total area of selhozproizvoditelej in 2018, - said the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov. Potential development of agricultural insurance in the region remains high, which again showed a "round table" on agricultural insurance, which was held on 18 October in Barnaul. According to the results of NSA and the Ministry of agriculture of the region have agreed to work together for the development of agricultural insurance in the region. In particular, in the period before spring planting 2019 it is planned to conduct an extended workshop for the Altai farmers in order to learn specific procedures of agricultural insurance. These measures should help farmers in the region, which is included in the group of leaders in Russia in production of grain and leguminous crops, to build a system of insurance protection at a level consistent with its agricultural potential."

According to the NSA and the Bank of Russia in the market region in the 1st half of the insurance contracts concluded selkhozizdat 7 insurance companies, including the major Federal. In 2012, for the period of validity of the law on state support of agricultural insurance, agriculture of the Altai territory received insurance payments in the amount of RUB 406 million.

From 1 January 2016 at the market of agricultural insurance with state support is a single national Association, the national Union of agricultural insurers. Insurance companies, who are members of NSA do not have the right to enter into contracts of insurance with state support. The creation of a centralized system of agricultural insurance in the Russian Federation is provided by Federal law 22.12.2014 No. 424-FZ on amendments to the Law "On state support in agricultural insurance..." №260-FZ.
