Delivery from abroad of fresh vegetables in Russia gradually recover after a sharp decline in 2015-2016 due to the embargo. Despite the active growth of the greenhouse industry in many regions, their own tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, peppers and greens, the Russians still not enough. In 2018 the total volume of imports of these products was close to 0.9 million tonnes.

According to calculations of "Tekhnologii rosta", the most in real terms increased supply of tomatoes (56 thousand tons more compared to 2017). In relative terms, the fastest in the past year, growing imports of pepper (almost 20% of the previous year), while imports of lettuce and eggplants in weight increased by 6% -8%. Vegetables greenhouse-only group cucumbers and gherkins showed a reduction in supply from abroad (-10%).
