According to the official data of Rospotrebnadzor, the part of the production of counterfeit food products is about 1%, which is a small indicator. But if we consider the official figures in detail, it becomes clear that the figure is 4.1% of the products for microbiological indicators is not compliant. And according to industry figures, the leaders of the counterfeit are fish and dairy industry, where its share reaches 13% and 9%, respectively, and the third place is a confectionery, where the proportion of counterfeits is equal to 7%, and in fourth place the meat and meat products 4%. Because of the different statistical data of organizations and publications in the media about the share of counterfeit goods on the shelves and in the sales of consumers formed the wrong idea of the real situation on the market.

It is important to understand how consumers perceive the falsification - many consider personal information about the volumes presented by the CPS, understated, knowing the fake is not only the products on which the manufacturer is silent deliberately deceiving the buyer, but also products, introducing consumer confusion due to aesthetic packaging. And that this issue requires special attention, as it is increasing the distrust of the category as a whole. While many buyers in the current economic realities consciously make a choice in favor of milk products which are lower in value, hoping to find a natural product at a low price, and the consequence is the increase in the production of such products.

"Often we hear that on the shelves of counterfeit a lot, - said Marina Petrova. – Indeed, its share of the shelf can reach 50-60%, but you need to understand that this is the share of SKU, and in the structure of sales it is 4-9%. But the correct understanding of the consumers of its real volume together with clear labelling system will help bring order to the market."

Furthermore, despite the negativity towards introducing consumer confusion of products in the current economic situation, policy restrictions will not be effective, so, for example, if the manufacturer is engaged in production and natural milk, and milk products, he should separate them on different lines and to produce at different production sites. According to Marina Petrova, these are the simple methods in conjunction with a uniform system of marking and a clear word order in the name will help in the fight with him.
