Through the world food programme (WFP) over the past three years in Uganda, was made food purchases with a total amount of 147 million US dollars, reports the Daily Monitor Uganda, citing the Ministry of agriculture, livestock and fisheries of Uganda.

The Minister of agriculture, livestock and fishing Vincent Ssempijja called the WFP an "important ally and partner" and "one of the engines of development of the agricultural sector of Uganda".

"We develop together with WFP," said Ssempijja.

In 2018, the UN Agency called Uganda's largest centre for the purchase of food.
