On 19 and 20 March, the NSA, with the support of the Ministry of agriculture of the Nizhny Novgorod region, together with the Association of peasant (farm) households (AKKOR) region held two seminars on risk management in agricultural production, which was attended by about 100 farmers and representatives of branches of insurance companies-members of the NSA. In addition, there was a meeting of the delegation of the NSA and Deputy Minister of agriculture of the region, Oleg Grigoriev, where agreement was reached on cooperation in 2019.

"The main task for the Nizhny Novgorod region and the NSA – is to increase coverage of crop insurance crops and – development of mechanisms for small and medium farmers, – said the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov. – To this end, the Ministry of agriculture of the region and the Union agreed on a systematic exchange of information, as well as on the control of specific contracts of insurance and settlement of insurance claims for him."

The development of insurance for the protection of medium and small-scale farming directed the agreement between the NSA and AKKOR Nizhny Novgorod region, signed in October 2018, said the President of the NSA.

According to NSA, in the Nizhny Novgorod region for 2018 was signed by 1.7 thousand contracts of agricultural insurance. The volume of the agricultural insurance market remains insignificant and amounted to 28.8 million RUB

For the period of validity of the law on state support of agricultural insurance from 2012 to 2018, insurers have made payments to Nizhny Novgorod farmers for agricultural risks in the amount of more than 496 million. According to the companies, the NSA, the main risks for crop production region are waterlogging of the soil (53.6% of the committed contracts with government support payments since 2012), atmospheric drought (32,2 %), strong breeze (14.2 percent).

From 1 January 2016 at the market of agricultural insurance with state support is a single national Association, the national Union of agricultural insurers. Insurance companies, who are members of NSA do not have the right to enter into contracts of insurance with state support. The creation of a centralized system of agricultural insurance in the Russian Federation is provided by Federal law 22.12.2014 No. 424-FZ on amendments to the Law "On state support in agricultural insurance..." №260-FZ.
