Ilya Shestakov said that the leader of production of commercial aquaculture in 2018 became the southern Federal district with the rate of 78,7 thousand tons. In the North-Western district, the figure was 59.5 thousand tons, in the Central Federal district is 37.8 thousand tons.
Among the subjects of the Russian Federation, most commercial aquaculture in 2018 was produced in the Rostov region (27.6 tonnes), the Republic of Karelia (27.2 thousand tons), Krasnodar region (22.5 thousand tons), Astrakhan (22.1 thousand tons) and Murmansk oblast (21.4 thousand tons). Production of planting materials is also steadily growing.
The best results for this indicator shows the North-Western Federal district. During the meeting the head of the Agency noted the need to further strengthen the interaction between sectoral institutions and the business community, the development of domestic feed production for aquaculture and the development of breeding centers.
