At the initiative of the Rosselkhoznadzor in the period from 15 to 19 April 2019 by the Department was carried out a working visit to the Republic of Turkey with the aim of obtaining official evidence of export supplies of fresh apples to the Russian Federation and countries of the European Union.

This visit was caused by the introduction before the ban on the importation into the territory of Russia for Turkish apples in support of the Belarusian re-export phytosanitary certificates.

The ban was imposed in connection with the distrust of the system of phytosanitary certification of the Belarusian service of guidance information on the country of origin.

During the visit the Rosselkhoznadzor experts got acquainted with the system of phytosanitary control carried out by the Turkish service, the procedure of phytosanitary certificates for fruits and vegetables, visited a large enterprise producing and exporting apples.

The Turkish side noted that the main supply of these fruits to the Russian Federation are carried by sea to the ports of the Krasnodar territory, and also confirmed that the shipment of apples by road, to Russia and EU countries.

In addition, the Turkish side provided full information about the exported quantities of these fruits.

In order to obtain objective information about the Turkish re-export of apples from Belarus to Russia, the Rosselkhoznadzor invited Belarusian colleagues to take part in the visit to Turkey, however, the Belarusian side refused.
