It became known that in February of this year, deliveries of Belarusian strawberries to Russia increased by 4 times and reached 1.1 thousand tons. Belarus is in first place in the export of berries in the Russian Federation.

Thus, in January 2019 Belarus has exported more than 21 thousand tons of strawberry, which is 40% of the total import volume. In the last three years in fact Russia is the only buyer of the strawberries from Belarus.

Note that the growth of supply of berries on the territory of Russia is connected with the ban on imports of European fruit and vegetables to the Russian market in August 2014. The biggest part of the supply of strawberries was carried out from the EU: Greece, Spain and Poland.
