So, a large amount of precipitation and the inability to spend time complaining about Northern farmers in some areas of Western, Central and Northern Ukraine – Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Kirovograd, Chernivtsi and others. In these regions experienced heavy rains with thunderstorms and occasionally with hail. Some farms prevent the time to sow soy, sunflower, corn. Another adverse situation, which is created by precipitation, the inability to fertilize in the early grain and leguminous crops, which have already sprouted. In addition, excessive humidity provokes the emergence of diseases in plants – root rot, powdery mildew and Septoria on cereals.

"Rain very much, do not have time neither to sow, nor to process or make a protection. Of the planned sown crops remained 70% of the area. And the loss of crops and the cultivation of crops not in the growth phase is a direct impact on productivity: it can be reduced. Mostly left to sow soybean, partially – sunflower. Processing did not manage to hold on cereals, canola," said Michael Kleser of Chernivtsi region.

Some farmers had to replant about culture because heavy rains washed out.

However, in the South and East of Ukraine – in Donetsk, Lugansk, Nikolaev, Kherson, Odessa regions – precipitation were moderate. And in some areas of Zaporozhye region during the month was the drought.

According to Ukrgidromettsentra, from 27 April to 6 may in the Western and Northern parts of Ukraine fell to a six-month or even rainfall. So much moisture leads to waterlogging of the upper layers of the soil and high relative humidity.
