The Ministry of agriculture held a meeting of the working group of the State Council of the Russian Federation in the field of Agriculture.

The event was held under the chairmanship of the Governor of the Altai territory Viktor Tomenko, who is the head of the working group, and the Deputy Minister of agriculture Elena Pustovoy.

The meeting discussed issues of state support for small farms and new approaches to the development of agricultural producers, as well as relevant proposals from the regions.

Among other things, the meeting discussed initiatives of constituent entities of the Russian Federation to increase the size of grants to support beginning farmers up to 5 million rubles in the implementation of projects on development of dairy and beef cattle, and other projects up to 3 million rubles.

During the event participants also discussed proposals to improve preferential credit, taxation, and measures of state support of technical re-equipment, the digitalization of agriculture and exports.

Working groups on key directions of development of the country was established by decree of the President of Russia in December of last year. Their main functions include preparation of materials on issues to be considered at the meetings of the State Council and its Presidium.

The composition of the working group on "Agriculture" includes the heads of regions and heads of regional agricultural administrative bodies, and representatives of the legislative and Executive authorities, public organizations, business community.
