The Ministry has commented on the idea to ban Russian products with TRANS fats
The gradual reduction of the level of TRANS fats to 2% of the total fat content in foods already provided for in the regulations of the Customs Union, said the Ministry of industry and trade on the idea to ban Russian products with TRANS fats.

The answer of the Deputy Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Alexei Besprozvanny at the disposal of RIA Novosti.
In March, the state Duma Deputy Vitaly Milonov invited the Ministry of industry and trade and the Ministry of health to jointly study the issue of changing legislation on the subject of the gradual reduction of the use of artificial TRANS fats, contained in particular in fast food in the Russian food industry until the complete ban on the sale of products containing them in the public catering enterprises.
 
In response to the Deputy emphasized that the requirements for safety of food products, including oil and fat products, installed in the technical regulations of the Customs Union.
 
 
"Provides for a phased reduction in content of TRANS fatty acids in fat and oil products with 20% fat content in the product up to 2%. Currently, according to Annex No. 1 to technical regulation of the Customs Union 024/2011, for products of processing of vegetable oils and animal fats permissible levels of TRANS fatty acids is 2% of the fat content in the product," - said in response Besprozvanny.
 
The appeal noted that to ensure food safety in the Russian Federation is also implementing a strategy to increase the quality of food products.
