The workshop participants noted the growing demand of farmers in the regions on agricultural insurance. According to the NSA, as of June 1, 2019 in the base of the Union received information about the prisoners this year contracts of insurance of agricultural crops on the area of 542 thousand hectares a Year earlier this figure was only 78 thousand ha. in addition, the increased average area of insured crops per 1 contract – it increased from 1.9 hectares to 2.7 hectares.

But at the stage of development of this legislative initiative, the question arose – is it possible to include in the program with state fundamentally different risks, implement additional approaches to address loss and calculation of insurance payments taking into account the specifics of each of the agricultural areas, – says the President of the NSA. In particular, the application of methods of space monitoring opens up prospects for development index insurance of crops, which can be particularly beneficial to small farmers."
