Spain is developing its model of insurance protection for almost 40 years - since 1980, and today this country is ready to offer it as an effective model for the whole EU. For the past 4 years, from 2015 to 2018, the Spanish farmers receive annually from 450 to over 700 million euros in insurance indemnities. In the last 2 years payments exceeded 700 million euros in connection with the increased frequency of natural disasters - frost, hurricanes, droughts. The volume of insurance premiums on policies with the state support in 2018 amounted to 757 million euros, the amount of subsidies – 318 million euros. Financing of agricultural insurance in the EU Spain does not use: 226 million euros of state support provided to farmers under the jurisdiction of the state institution of the Ministry of agriculture of Spain ENESA, another 92 million euros from regional budgets.

A feature of the Spanish model, as emphasized by Miguel Peres SIMAS, is the diversity we offer farmers insurance risks. Currently in Spain subsidized insurance program 44: 28 – to protect the risks associated with the cultivation of crops, 12 insurance programs of farm animals, 3 insurance programs aquaculture and 1 program for the protection of the forest Fund.

"In Russia until 2019 system of agricultural insurance with state support provided for 3 subsidized programs: crop insurance, insurance of perennial plantations and livestock insurance. Now to them were added the risks of aquaculture. In addition, for the first time this year you can select individual risks. But insurance certain lines of agricultural production and certain risks may require further diversification of conditions, as is done in Spain," - said the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov.

Round table "agricultural Insurance as a risk management tool for agriculture. Prospects of development" was organized by ECA in the framework of the XVII International conference on insurance of the Russian Union of insurers of St.-Petersburg. The event was held July 3 in the building of the State Hermitage. It was attended by the heads of the establishments of agricultural insurance with state support, representatives of insurance and reinsurance companies, industry associations agribusiness, agricultural science from Russia, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
