"Representatives of the sectoral agricultural community of the North-West and Centre with great interest reacted to the proposals for implementation in system of insurance of additional programmes including protection risks typical for small and medium farmers – insurance costs for sowing of winter crops, index insurance," - said the President of the NRA of the Roots of biggov. Also in the framework of the target program on increase of financial literacy of the farmers were presented with information about the possibilities of using insurance protection on the current conditions of agricultural insurance with state support.

As told on the forum the head of Department on interaction with bodies of state power and the development of regional programs of NSA Yuri Esikov, the Leningrad region in 2018, is among the five leaders in Russia according to the insurance of livestock to the conditions of state support. More than 20 livestock farms have purchased such policies during the year and the level of insured value of livestock (5.8 billion rubles), the region took the 4th place in Russia. Here was insured almost 7.8 million birds, 38.5 thousand head of cattle and 122,1 thousand pigs. In 2019 activated the insurance contracts on the conditions of state support: according to the latest data of June 1, insured 9.2 thousand hectares of crops and more than 75 thousand heads of farm animals, higher than on the same date in the previous two years.

"Of great interest to the issues of agricultural insurance has been shown by farmers not only in Leningrad region, but other regions – in particular, Pskov, and Yaroslavl regions. Cooperation with these regions for the development of agricultural insurance will be expanded," – said the President of the NSA.
