Large-scale festival of agriculture of the Kaliningrad region started on Saturday. The main event of agricultural industry in the region turned in Gvardeysky district. The event was attended by Governor Anton Alikhanov. This year's event has a special scale. The first time it is held over two days, covers an area of 25 hectares. This territory has more than 30 thematic areas and pavilions, including the products of agricultural producers, which you can taste and purchase farm machinery, animals, children and adults and business programs. The agrofestival brought together about 180 companies, farms. One of the key events on Saturday was a demonstration of harvesting.

Guests of the field Day of the Baltic saw a fodder for cattle. Anton Alikhanov noted that such demonstrations are important to understand the fact that agriculture is a high – tech complex industry. Speaking of its development, the Governor said a fairly good harvest this year and reported that, according to forecasts of the regional Ministry of agriculture, the gross yield of grain and leguminous crops will exceed 500 thousand tons. This figure will be a record in the post-Soviet period. Anton chief Executive officer also drew attention to the implementation of major investment projects – a dairy complex for 3600 heads of milking herd with the volume of milk production is approximately 30 thousand tons per year, Russia's first breeding and genetic center in dairy cattle. Also among the priorities of the head of the region called the export development agriculture, rural areas – including at the expense of agricultural cooperation.

"The business part of the agenda of the Baltic fields we start with the presentation of the competence Center in the field of agricultural cooperatives and to support farmers. They are now actively working, looking for new projects that we could assist them to implement them", – said Anton Alikhanov. The Governor also visited the metochion of municipalities, areas of food processing, livestock, agricultural, fisheries, science and education.
