The head of state asked the Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, why the rearing of snails is not in this list. Patrushev has promised to rectify the situation.

"I just asked. Together with the Rosselkhoznadzor reduce these issues to a minimum. Okay? That was not so, as some here said. Ten years did not solve the issue. Snails are a very good nutrient biological product," – said Putin.

Balaev said that snails are "the strongest aphrodisiac in the world" and source of protein.
