"Currently, the standard eliminates the production of vegetables in greenhouses with hydroponic production method, which refers to cultivation on inert substrates. Nowadays many modern companies realize the watering water and use organic substrates. It is necessary that the production was certified as organic production," said Sitnikov.

I supported him and the Chairman of the Agricultural Committee of the state Duma Vladimir Kashin: "I believe that technologies, which are used in greenhouses for new plants, quite meet the standards of organic production. They do not use pesticides and other harmful substances that would violate the law, and therefore, the products of these plants can be certified as organic".

Recall that on 1 January 2020 in Russia came into force the Federal law on organic products, which establishes a regulatory framework for production and supply of food to Russia, the principles of production which exclude the use of fertilizers and chemicals. The manufacturer may use the image of the sign Russian organic products after receipt of the certificate of conformity of production and entering information about it in the uniform state register of the accredited certification body. The official sign is a white leaf on a green background with the words "organic" in Cyrillic and Latin.

The Association "Greenhouses of Russia" is the largest professional Association of greenhouses of Russia. The Association consists of 242 enterprises, including 127 greenhouses. Association members include the largest manufacturers as "Lobaccaro", APH "Eco-Culture", "Vyborzhets", "may", "Group Gorkunov", "Yaroslavl", etc.
