The design of the barn is carried out taking into account all wishes of the customer, requirements set forth in the regulations and requirements for cattle, as well as taking into account the characteristics of the region of construction (wind and snow loads, average daily temperatures, the characteristics of the soil, etc.). The size and area of the barn can depend on many factors: the composition of the herd, from the share in it of young animals, by type of animal, climatic characteristics of the region construction, etc. When designing the barn the hangar can be determined based on the following rules: per cow is calculated not less than 6 sq. m. floor space (including space for passage and feeding), cow and one calf - not less than 10 sq. m. (for example, with a length of 4 m and width 2.5 m). In accordance with the recommendations set out in the SNP 2.10.03-84, "room height from floor to the bottom of suspended equipment and communications in the hangar of the barn should be at least 2 m". If the barn will be used for keeping animals on straw bedding, the height of the walls of the hangar should be not less than 3 meters. In the barn it is desirable to make two or three small Windows (0.5 x 0.7 m), which are located above the level of the head of the animal on the side walls. The total area of the Windows in the barn should not exceed 1/20 of the floor.
