Russia does not need European meat production, as in recent years learned how to produce cheaper, which is not inferior in quality, told journalists the Minister of agriculture Alexander Tkachev.

He noted that lifting sanctions will make little difference in the structure of the Russian economy.

"It's hard for me to talk about the lifting of sanctions, because this is still a political issue. You know, maybe some time we were, perhaps, in the illusion, including the fact that if the sanctions are removed, we again lost, it will be much worse for our farmers. You know, I think that is not so", — said the Minister.

"We have learned to produce and create food quite competitive, including the devaluation of the us that helps. And so even if let us turn now took everything, as they say, and here comes the French beef and pork German, it will already be at a price significantly higher and the quality is the same", — the Minister added.

According to him, given the logistics, which will only raise the price of deliveries of food products to the Russian market, "we will be very competitive and, therefore, the European meat here to do, in fact, nothing".

"Because we manufacture today, cheaper, higher quality, and consumers have become accustomed to that Russian meat production. And I think that's the big gain, first of all, and the government of the Russian Federation, which provides support unprecedented. Well, of course, and producers themselves, who did not sit the years on the place, increasing production, improving product quality, has invested in agricultural production", — concluded Tkachev.
