The Minister of agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan Marat Akhmetov instructed the agriculture to increase the harvest of grain from 4.3 million tons in 2016 to 5 million tons in 2017.

He recalled that for seven years, weather conditions did not allow to obtain a good grain harvest, but last year managed to reverse the trend, "seven lean years" when the harvest was below 4 million tons.

Marat Akhmetov added that an area of 586 thousand hectares of sown winter crops. Crops are in good condition, but compared to 2016 in the first meter of soil, there is less moisture.
