According to the FAO forecast, this year the world grain production will decline by 9 million tonnes to 2597 million tons.

Including the expected reduction of wheat production is 740 million tonnes, which is 2.7% less than the value last year. Adjustment of the forecast is related to the expectation of lower production of the grain in Australia, Canada and the United States due to the reduction in acreage as a result of lower prices.

The yield reduction is also expected in Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine, while the EU and Morocco is projected a significant increase in the production of a crop.

Production of coarse grains could set a new record – 1353 million tonnes.

Corn production will bring the greatest increase in the total share of the grain harvest. FAO experts predict that corn in 2017 will be collected 1051 million tons.
