Growers of the Volgograd region has significantly increased its acreage, the report said the Ministry of agriculture.

On June 15, sown and planted vegetables on the square 13117 ha (130% by 2014), potatoes – 2 050 ha (187% by 2014), melons – 37 022 hectares (122% by 2014). And the increase in sown area in that culture, such as a pumpkin, was in 2057 hectares (491% by 2014).

The agricultural producers sell locally grown products, including from the fields. Just sold 16 625 tons of early vegetable crops, including tomatoes - 2 820 tons, cucumbers – 14 452 tons, cabbage – 230 tons, radish – 123 tons. Of this amount, the greenhouse vegetables, implemented industrial greenhouse farms are 14645 tons, including 12 990 tons of cucumbers and 1 655 tons of tomatoes.
