Voronezh agrarians plan to harvest this year, 4 million tons of grain, broadly in line with last year's figure, said Tuesday the regional government.

Voronezh farmers in 2014 got gathered some 4 million tons of grain with a yield of 36 tons per hectare. This year the beginning of the harvesting campaign was complicated by prolonged rains, however, when was favorable for farmers weather, they managed to recover, the pace of work.

"The gross grain harvest is forecast at 4 million tons. The elevators and warehouses farms will allow you to post and save the harvest", — stated in the message.

Today already threshed 380 thousand hectares (26% of the area of crops), assembled the first million tons of grain. The highest yield (over 35 quintals per hectare — it is noted in Anninsky, Ostrogorski, Repyeuski and Khokholsky areas.

With regard to the livestock industry in the region, January-June 2015 agricultural organizations of the region made of 115.7 thousand tons of meat (grown cattle and poultry in live weight), 239,1 thousand tons of milk, 257,5 million chicken eggs. Milk yield per cow dairy herd in the first half of 2015 increased by 2.7% and amounted to 2.94 tons. By 2018, the region expects to increase meat production doubled, and milk — 1.3 times.
