The Penza region became the leader in the Volga Federal district in terms of meat production, the press service of the regional Ministry of agriculture.

For the first half of the year, the region produced 44 thousand tons of meat and offal, which is almost 50% more than in the first half of 2014.For the 6 months of the year, in the field of production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight was of 115.7 thousand tons, which is 12.7% higher than in 2014.

Also up to 2 thousand tons in the region increased the production of cheese and milk yield increased to 171,7 thousand tons.

By the end of 2014 in the Penza region was produced 181,2 thousand tons of meat of cattle and poultry. Compared with 2013, the volume of meat production in the region increased by 16%.
