Bilateral cooperation in implementation of investment projects, exchange of experience in agriculture, education, culture and tourism – all these areas have been identified as promising during the working meeting of Governor Andrei Bocharov and the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Russia Pierre Ferring.

A visit to the Volgograd region, Pierre Ferring began with a visit to Mamaev Kurgan. Laid flowers at the hall of military glory, the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Russia made an entry in the guest book: "I came here very excited, filled with deep sense of gratitude to those who sacrificed their lives in this city in 1942-43 the Heroic struggle of the soldiers of the red Army contributed greatly to the liberation of my country, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg".

The theme of patriotism and good relations between the two countries was continued during a working meeting with the Governor Andrei Bocharov.

"We see growing interest in the history of Russia and the Volgograd region from Western tourists, said the head of the region. — Our Stalingrad-Volgograd needs no advertising is a city of winners of international importance. We honor and protect the memory of the victories of our ancestors. Today is our land — territory of friendship and peace. We are looking forward and interested in cooperation, development of relations".

Andrey Bocharov stressed that the Volgograd region has an advantageous geographic position as a major gateway to the South of Russia with Iran, the Caucasus, Turkey and Kazakhstan. Among the promising areas for further cooperation were identified agriculture, investment, humanitarian, cultural and tourism spheres.

"I would like to invite representatives of the Volgograd industry, agriculture and business in Luxembourg, to present their projects. Today the Duchy is one of the financial capitals of Europe. This is an important platform for cooperation. We must provide an opportunity for business representatives to know each other. Knowing the characteristics of the region, we can implement interesting joint projects in the interests of the inhabitants of the Volgograd region and Monaco" — said Pierre Ferring.

Andrey Bocharov thanked for the offer and, in turn, invited the representatives of the Luxembourg side for the matches of the world Cup, which will take Volgograd in 2018.
