Cows on Sakhalin offered to feed waste from beer production.

At the meeting of the Altai business and Sakhalin farmers representatives Barnaul brewery said that it is cheaper and increases milk production. In Russia, spent grains for feed production until processed only in two regions. In Altay territory it is dried, yeast and waste grain production and pressed into pellets. This food is obtained in one and a half times cheaper than kombikormov and stored six months.

The grains are used for feeding cattle and increase milk production up to two liters a day. It is also rich in vitamins of group B.

On Sakhalin is the problem of providing the population own milk production. Now dairy farms can only meet 30% of demand for milk. Local officials have a plan to raise this figure to 55% by 2020.
