The lack of vegetable originated in the Tomsk region in 2015 due to a good harvest of potatoes, carrots, beets and cabbage; the regional authorities are considering renting at retail chains of premises for storage, told reporters on Wednesday the Deputy Governor for agriculture Andrey Knorr.

"A good crop for potatoes. Removed 44%. The yield is 180-190 tons per hectare. One of the highest yields in recent years. For vegetables in General, a good momentum. Overall 25% of the vegetables have been removed. The yield is 280-290 quintals per hectare. A good crop of carrots, beets and cabbage"said Knorr at a press conference at the media center RIA Tomsk.

According to him, in previous years, the potato yield was at the level of 150-160 tons per hectare, vegetables 200-210 tons per hectare. Knorr added that many farms had almost exhausted the possibility of filling of potatoes in storage.

"All greenhouses filled. Affects our lack of vegetable stores. Seeking rental opportunities vegetable stores with retail chains and other", – said the Deputy Governor.
