In January, the company Cargill will close its manufacturing facility in Lititz, Pennsylvania, will take the production on "more modern and efficient manufacturing facility" in Mount Joy under Litecam and Hazleton, Pennsylvania, and complement plants in Milwaukee and Ontario, Canada.

The company translates the managerial, administrative jobs at North American enterprises of cocoa and chocolate in Milwaukee and Minneapolis.

The headquarters of Cargill are located in Minneapolis that will provide a closer access of the business to administrative proceedings, research activities and marketing.

These changes imply a reduction in average 130 jobs, mostly at a manufacturing plant in Lititz. About 30 employees will be transferred to other enterprises. This is a very difficult decision, particularly when they involve employees who have done such a great job for the company for many years, management said Cargill. The company intends to help dismissed employees to find another job or to assist in translation.

These measures are aimed at the offering of new products and enhancing production, said the company. The global business of chocolate and cocoa company includes 27 businesses in 11 countries and over 3,000 employees.

The closure of the plant resulted from the sale of its ADM global chocolate business Cargill in August.
