The Altai territory in 2015 has received a record harvest of buckwheat in the history of the region, said the Governor of edge Alexander Karlin on Thursday during the celebration of the day of workers of agriculture and processing industry.

"You helped the state avoid deficits of the popular cereals. Crops of buckwheat in the region was occupied by 467 thousand hectares, or 51% of the total area in Russia. Gross yield is 1.8 times more than last year, and amounted to 410 thousand tons. This is the highest indicator for all history of cultivation of this culture in the region", - said Alexander Karlin.

In General, the gross grain harvest in the region amounted to 4.2 million tonnes, at 669 thousand tons more than last year. Wheat this year, 2.7 million tonnes.
