In Nizhny Novgorod region implemented 12 major import-substituting projects in the agricultural sector with investments in fixed assets of about 12 billion rubles, said Governor Valery Shantsev at session of the Legislative Assembly of the region on Thursday, reporting on the work of the regional government for 2015.

"In the framework of import substitution in agriculture are implemented 12 major projects with fixed capital investment of about 12 billion to increase production volumes of agricultural products and foodstuffs through the construction of new and modernization of existing enterprises. Some of them completed and commissioned in 2015", - said the head of the region.

In particular, in the Vadskiy district built a modern pig farm of 180 thousand units, an exit on full capacity is planned for 2016. As a result of the entry of this complex is already at the end of last year, the region has experienced a nearly 30% increase in meat production of pigs. By 2017, the same complex will be built in the district of Bol (investor in both projects is, OOO NNPP is a subsidiary of Russia Baltic Pork Invest ASA, RBPI, Norway, the capacity of each of the complexes for 6 thousand heads).
