The President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the Federal law on exemption until 31 December 2020 taxpayers from VAT payment upon the sale and import in Russia of breeding cattle and breeding birds, reported on the official portal of legal information.

Federal law exempts from VAT on the territory of the Russian Federation operations of sale (transfer for own needs) breeding cattle, breeding swine, sheep, goats, horses, obtained embryos and semen, and breeding poultry and breeding eggs. Exemption applies if the taxpayer's breeding certificate.

The same benefit is provided and at import to Russia of breeding cattle and poultry, as well as embryos, semen and pedigree eggs, but subject to the submission to the customs authority of a permit issued in accordance with the law "On livestock breeding".

Informed of the implementation and importation of breeding livestock and poultry was applied reduced VAT rate — 10%.

The state Duma adopted the law on exemption until January 1, 2021 taxpayers from VAT payment upon the sale and import in Russia of breeding cattle and breeding birds June 10, 2016.
