In Buryatia predict soil drought

Farmers of Buryatia concluded the first signs of drought, the authorities are preparing to enter the emergency mode. About it reported in a press-service of the regional Ministry of agriculture and food.

"The reserves of productive moisture in an arable layer of soil made up of critical values is less than 10 mm in the first meter of soil < 50 mm", - said the press service.

They explained that signs of drought were noted in 13 districts due to the lack of effective rainfall, high daytime air temperatures and soil, low relative humidity and dry winds.

"For agricultural crops observed drying of plants, thinning of crops, burning of pastures", - told in the Ministry.

Thus, according to forecasts, in the coming week in the region is expected to warm, some days hot weather - under 35 degrees.

"The rains will be, but they are mostly torrential character. Against the background of high daily air temperature and wind that will lead to the further development of drought", - experts of the regional Ministry.

Now local authorities in the districts began to survey areas of crops. Once the experts determine the condition of crops, the decision will be taken by Declaration of emergency due to drought.

"For a possible introduction of the emergency Ministry of agriculture of Buryatia is ready. Since last year, the algorithm of actions in case of abnormally hot weather," - said the press service.

In July last year, the state of emergency because of drought was introduced in 11 districts of the Republic and lasted until the end of September. As a result of abnormal heat injured more than 120 households, the damage amounted to 500 million rubles. Suffered, died and was written off the crops of grain and forage crops, potatoes and vegetables on an area of about 100 hectares, or about 70% of the area of all spring crops. At the end of the year, the Ministry of agriculture of Russia has allocated to farmers in Buryatia Republic affected by the summer drought, more than 320 million rubles compensation.
