In may 2015 in the framework of the visit to Japan in Hokkaido Prefecture Governor the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) presented a number of investment projects. One of them was an investment project for the construction of year-round greenhouse complex in the city of Yakutsk, which is less than a year implemented in practice.

"Given the year-round operation of the greenhouse complex is the only and unique project implemented under conditions of extremely low temperatures and permafrost many years"

The Director of the Department of economy, trade and industry Hokkaido prefectural Shuhei kojima thanked the region for the opportunity to implement such an ambitious project.

In accordance with the investment project in 2018-2020 planned construction of the second and third stages year-round greenhouse complex, the report says.

According to the project on the area of 8.2 hectares, in Telegino-Kildysart the nasleg planned construction of a greenhouse complex for growing vegetables and salad products, with the placement of teploenergotsentral, office, warehouse and auxiliary buildings, high-technology year-round greenhouse complex on Japanese technology with an area of 3.3 hectares.

According to the authorities, the greenhouse complex will be the only and unique in the world built on permafrost producer of vegetables year-round. The complex will be equipped with equipment and engineering systems, allowing to organize continuous production of vegetables of the protected ground with automatic control of climate and mineral nutrition, with minimal use of manual labor.

"By 2025, the greenhouse complex in the village Syrdakh will be able to provide the population of the city of Yakutsk and neighboring uluses cucumbers by 56.4%, tomato – by 15.7% and greens 8%. This project will increase the consumption of vegetables and increase food security of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) due to reduction of volumes of deliveries of vegetables"
