The head of Department of development of the fisheries industry regional Minselhozproda Artem Shevchenko said that the downward trend in catch of aquatic bioresources in the Azov estuaries continues.
"Commercial catch of aquatic bioresources in 2016 amounted to 305 tons, 9 tons less than in 2015. Of these, 85 % are the prey of carp. The recommended volume is still at a high level of 1.6 thousand tons", — said Artem Shevchenko.
He also told about results of work on clearing the Azov estuaries last year. So, in 2016 was cleared 75 hectares of creeks, estuaries and river channels from woody debris, shrubs and woody thickets. In addition, compensation of the damage to the water bodies of the Krasnodar territory issued 2.6 million pieces of young fish, of which herbivorous fish species – 23.4 thousand pieces. However, work is not enough, said at the meeting.
Following the meeting group members identified a number of areas on the basis of which to build a plan for the restoration of the Azov estuaries: work on the production of carp in estuaries, the continuation of reclamation work on-site ponds spawning-outgrown farms.
We will remind, earlier Vice-the Governor of Kuban Andrei Box instructed to establish an interagency working group that shall develop the program of clearing of the Kuban estuaries.
