This was announced by the Minister of agriculture and fisheries of the region Alexey Galkin. "Fundamentally changing the system of subsidizing agricultural producers in Russia. Regions be given more authority to allow subsidies for the support that is more relevant for the subject", — said Galkin.

He stressed that last year in the Astrakhan region was utilized 97.5% of the state and 2.5% were returned. According to him, this year state support will be directed to reclamation, development of seed production and family farms.

"We will be able to give beginning farmers who have established themselves well in the meat and dairy industry, not 1.5, and up to 3 million rubles. In terms of 1 ha the farmer will receive 30% more. Big plans due to the geographical location of the region – the program of land reclamation", — said the head of the Ministry.

He stressed that in 2016, the region has invested heavily to combat desertification of agricultural land.
